Refresher Courses for Class A or Class B CDL
CDL Refreshers courses are offered at both the Conyers and Columbus Campuses and are designed for those that have had driving experience in the past, but may have been out of the business for a period of time and just need to refresh their skills.
The Refresher Program is designed for the Class A or Class B CDL Driver with a minimum of one or more years driving experience within the previous 3 to 5 years. The training consists of one-on-one instruction covering: pre-trip inspection, backing maneuvers, and road instruction. Additionally, the training can be tailored to the needs of the student with logbook instruction and specific areas of instruction selected.
CDL Refresher Training Contains the Following:
Pre-Trip Inspection-Vehicle: Air Brake System, Tires, Tire Care, and Engine & Trailer Fundamentals.
Backing Maneuvers: Driver/Vehicle Safety, Preparing to Drive (mirrors, seat, etc). Backing Basics and Advanced, Straight-Line, Left & Right Offset, Blind & Driverside Parallels, 90-degree Backing Maneuvers, Coupling, and Uncoupling Procedures.
Road Instruction: Safe Vehicle Operation on the road, Shifting Basics (if required), Patterns, and Advanced Speed Control and Stopping, Distance and Lane Management, as well as City, Rural and Interstate Driving.
